Timothy Johnson is a Design Partner for NBBJ where he leads the international commercial design practice. His award-winning work spans the globe and includes commercial mixed-use projects, multi-family residential, healthcare facilities, transportation facilities, and corporate workplace interiors.
Mr. Johnson is an expert on the integration of design with business performance to develop buildings and environments that are performance-driven, humanistic, and sustainable. His work engages with local communities and cultures to inform the design process and deliver outcomes that redefine the urban experience and improve quality of life. He is known in the industry for using design as a core ingredient in carrying out a client’s business strategy.
He is involved with organizations that work to create healthy urban environments. He is currently an active member of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, ULI, CoreNet Global, the Architectural League of New York, and the AIA.
His current work includes the Dalian Center Project – a commercial mixed-use development listed among the world’s tallest buildings, and under construction in Dalian, PRC. Mr. Johnson was also the Design.
Partner-in-Charge of the recently completed, award-winning Sail @ Marina Bay, in Singapore – the world’s 10th tallest residential building.
Mr. Johnson received a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University in New York City.
